Stephen C. Durbin 14525 SW MILLIKAN #37381 BEAVERTON, OR 97005 Phone 928-699-4543 E-mail snmdurbin@earthlink.net Objective My primary objective for employment is eventual financial security. A fraction of my plan to reach financial security is to utilize my extensive experience, education and skills to the benefit of an entity or entities in return for fair financial compensation. Summary of Accomplishments and Qualifications Over the course of my career I am privileged to have received a directed education saturated with knowledge related to Electronics, Electrical Controls, Machine Control, sensors and software. This "directed education" has, in my opinion, substantially served me in my career advancement better than I could have hoped for from a degreed curriculum. I have successfully worked with teams consisting of the very best Electrical, Mechanical, Biomechanical, Chemical and Process Engineers the industries can offer. What made these teams, and myself, successful was the combination of clear and effective communication skills of each individual, my ability as a considerate mediator as well as unified goals. I have achieved multi-tasking product handling systems (thread-type code), complex vision systems including one system that was required to verify part numbers on a set of no less than five parts against a network Bill of Materials using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and to allow a box to be filled with the correct parts on a conveyor belt at a rate of one box every six seconds. I designed the Electrical Controls System (ECS), including software, from the ground up on a Machine Vision controlled radio-opaque marker band swage machine that was capable of positioning, swaging and then inspecting the finished part to tenths of thousandths of an inch precision. I have designed a multitude of Medical Device Manufacturing machines that still make medical devices in many of the largest company names in Medical Devices to this day.
