I was raised as a Catholic but had not really accepted Christ other than perhaps
vicariously through some ceremony as a young child. Throughout my life I can recall people
that witnessed for Christ to me but only to my annoyance at someone pushing their religion
on me. One night in 1985 I woke up in complete darkness (in every sense of the word, as you
will see); rather than revealing himself, God revealed real darkness, Satan perhaps but a
spiritual darkness that was very frightening. I was convicted that this darkness was where
I was heading with my life and I knew that only accepting God, his plan for salvation,
accepting Jesus Christ would save me from that destiny. I accepted Jesus Christ that
moment by tearfully asking him into my heart and I knew right then, I KNEW it was
the right decision. Salvation is permanent, none can snatch us from his hand, not even
ourselves.
I followed Christ in Baptism at the First Baptist Church in Litchfield Park, AZ. I say
probably now as my memory of where we were going to church at the time is a bit fuzzy as
I have gotten older. It is probably in my letter which is probably left at Calvary Bible
Church in Flagstaff, AZ. I have attended or was a member of many churches between and
after.
I have since read The Holy Bible many times and continue to read my Bible daily. Just now,
I enjoy the copy on my 'droid smartphone. I consider myself a non-denominational Born Again
Christian. What this means is that denominational differences please Satan, not God. We
are meant to be one Church though we may worship in different churches.
Can a Catholic be
a genuine Christian? A Mormon? Jehovah Witness? Of course they can, if they have
confessed their sins with heartfelt remorse and accepted Jesus Christ as the risen Son of
God with his sacrifice on the cross as their own Savior and accepted Christ and his Spirit
into their heart. Anyone can become a genuine Born Again Christian no matter how misled
they had become. If you haven't followed this simple recipe to salvation do it right now!
Eternity is a heart beat away! Here are some words you can use but only you can pray them
earnestly for Salvation:
"
Heavenly Father, I know I have sinned. I accept that Jesus Christ was literally born
of a virgin as your Son. I accept that he died on the cross for my sins and that he rose
again, the Living Christ. I believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the light and the life
and none comes to the Father but through him. From this day forth I accept Jesus Christ
and the Holy Spirit into my heart and mind to cleanse me of my sin and to guide my way
through the rest of my life and the eternal life after.
"
If you have prayed these or similar words truthfully and meaningfully, praise God!
You are saved! Email me if you want to so I
can rejoice with you and share your next steps in your new walk! (Ignore my spam filter, I check it every day.)
Rather than going into all the pre-trib, post-trib, baptism talking points of my belief I found
an excellent statement of belief that resonates in perfect harmony with my own at the
Winning Walk website.
The Triune God concept is hard for some to grasp but I found an easy
way to reconcile how the Father, Son and Holy Spirit can be one. Remember
that man was created by God in his image. Want to know what God looks
like, look around you. I think if an alien ever came to earth they would
think we all look alike. We look like him though we can never be
like him. We too have the multiple natures; we have our physical body just
as Jesus has, we have our spirit - the intangible force that makes up who
we really are - our Id. As believers we contain the spirit of God - The Holy
Spirit guiding our own. Another nature will be our new body and spirit when we are perfected
in Jesus Christ. I have many ideas on the spiritual world around us, the
part of us that is in that world and the battle that rages around us.
Scientist may have that bit right, a parallel universe. Only God knows.

I am disabled due to spine injuries and find sitting in church through a sermon nearly
impossible so we often watch TBN on Sundays. Two ministries in particular have touched
our hearts and minds and we have thrown our financial support behind them:
